Buena Park

We have had some of our amazing followers tell us that they aren’t following us because we share homeschool posts (they don’t even homeschool themselves) or travel posts but that they are following us because of who we are. They don’t know us personally but they like what we represent and our personalities. That made me think and realize that it is actually the same way with our loved ones. We love the presence of our loved ones and not what they do. Our work is not our worth. Those who believe that their worth is their work become lost when their work is taken away from them due to their health or age. We have believed for way to long in the lie that without our work we aren’t worth anything.

“Most people in our culture look up to the person who is always on the go, always doing, always achieving. God isn’t quite so impressed, however, for he knows that the person who never stops never grows.” – Patrick Klingaman

Big Air Trampoline

Big Air Trampoline is a good place to go to when it’s raining outside. Which was the condition of the weather when we went here. There are areas where you can compete and areas for simply jumping. This was certainly an enjoyable experience. We love places like these because kids can stay active while having a blast.

Pirate’s Dinner Adventure

Buena Park has two different kinds of dinners with a show. We were fortunate to experience both of them and loved both very much. There were similarities but also so many differences.

If your looking for a fun, loud, and a very interactive dinner experience than this is an amazing choice. It is recommended that you arrive early and while you wait you receive different delicious appetizers. You are each assigned a different color. Everyone in your group gets the same color. This color lets you know where you will be seated at and which pirate you will be rooting for. Before the show begins you get to meet your pirate. There are also opportunities for you to participate in the show. You can also choose to be sworn into piracy. Peter and Esther actually participated in that and went on the ship.

There is a lot of action, jumping, screaming, laughing, and fun throughout the show.

We have never been enjoyed a meal while watching such a show as this before. We could seriously get used to this and do this every night.

Knott’s Berry Farm

Tips for getting the most out of an amusement park:

  1. Go when it is raining on a weekday.

That is actually the only brilliant tip we have for you. We went when it was raining. We wore rain ponchos and had a blast. There was hardly anyone at the park during this time. We had zero lines to stand in. I repeat…. zero, none, not one. We went on the rides over and over again.

We had such an amazing experience at Knott’s Berry Farm. Did you know that it was the first theme park in America? There are 40 attractions here 10 of these are roller coasters and if you become hungry this park definitely has better food choices than most.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament

Now Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament is different from the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. We highly recommend you do both if you can.

Your also recommended to arrive earlier. There are no appetizers but there are swords that you can hold and you can see the horses from a glass window.

Elizabeth was “Dub Thee” into a Princess. It was such a cool experience.

You are assigned a knight. You don’t get to talk to your knight and it is not as interactive as the Pirate show due to lack of safety due to horses being involved. But your knight does pass out flowers and if your lucky enough you might receive a flower from your knight.

There are 30 gorgeous horses. It is a graceful and exciting show. There are sword fights involved.

You get a four-course meal and the show lasts two hours long. It is one beautiful show.

John’s Incredible Pizza Co.

John’s Incredible Pizza is a all you can eat buffet and arcade. They have a large selection of food from pizza to soup and soft serve ice cream. They also have many fountain drinks and a variety of sauces. The arcade includes things ranging from a bowling alley to shooting games to arcade games. The arcade is not included with the buffet but is available to purchase at the same place.

Porto’s Bakery and Café

Porto’s Bakery and Café surprised us with the fact that it had excellent pastries but wasn’t extremely expensive. They also had an impressive amount of choices to choose from. When inside you can watch the bakers creating these desserts and the amount of dessert they produced was astonishing. We wish there was more Porto’s Bakery and Café.

We were on a road trip for two weeks and out of all the things we had seen and the amazing places we visited our children loved Buena Park the most. This will be one trip we will not forget.

Thank you Visit Buena Park for hosting our stay.
