Our age simply increases as we age. It really isn’t a choice. Birthdays are special and should be celebrated but if we are living they will continue to happen over and over again. Marriage or anniversary is different. The number of years someone is married is all up to the couple. It is a choice. I believe that anniversaries should be celebrated because it is a big accomplishment.
We celebrated our 17 year anniversary on Feb 23rd. We dated 2 1/2 years before we got married. We have been together for 19 1/2 years.

Colibri Ridge Winery
I love dessert wines. I’m not a big red wine drinker. I prefer white wine over red. My husband on the other hand enjoys red. We enjoy wineries that actually have a vineyard on the property. We love to see how the vineyard looks different with each season change. The view from Colibri Ridge Winery is stunning as well. We never pass an opportunity to take pictures next to a vineyard. We enjoyed the 2008 Viognier White Port, 2008 Primitive, and 2012 Chardonnay.

The Farm Table Restaurant
As we were searching for a place to have lunch on main street the name of this restaurant quickly caught our eyes. As far as we are concerned, this is the best name for a restaurant that you can come up with because it sounds very inviting.
I loved the gold country décor.
The food was great. We ordered soup ( chicken noodle) salad of the day. My husband ordered roast beef sandwich. You can choose to sit downstairs or upstairs. We wanted to sit upstairs where we could get a great view on main street.

Shopping
We love shopping in charming little gold rush towns. There is so much character and uniqueness not just in the old down towns itself but in the boutiques. And old hang town as locals call Placerville is one of my favorites. Below are two shops we enjoyed : one is my husbands favorite and one is my favorite.
AMBIANCE: sells some beautiful and unique clothes. I was seriously in love with their shoes. There was lots of jewelry options as well.
My husband on the other hand is a big time cheese lover so he loved Dedrick’s Main Street Cheese. And loves to get all of the ingredients locally to compliment the local wine. He is a big believer in that this is the best way to get the areas unique taste.

Perry Creek Winery
When we are not with our children we try to go winetasting. We usually visit a few wineries and stack up on our wines so that we are all set for a few months. We prefer to try our wines instead of buying random ones at the supermarket. We like relaxing atmospheres as well. We don’t really understand the wine language and we simply go by our taste buds. We really enjoyed their 2015 Hangtime, Altitude.

Lucinda’s County Inn
We love to stay in cozy Inns that have tasty breakfasts. Most of the time we are only able to stay in a Bed and Breakfast place when our children are not with us because these type of places are meant to be romantic and peaceful.
Lucinda’s County Inn is pretty secluded. If you want to get away from the busyness of life and stay somewhere beautiful and quite then this is the place.
They are in the heart of the Fair Play Wine Country which means that you can try out some amazing wineries just minutes away from the Inn.
There isn’t many restaurants near by so bring some food with you if you plan to arrive before you have dinner.
We stayed in the Vineyard Suite that had a balcony so it was a perfect place for us to enjoy dinner at.
The electric fireplace made the room feel so cozy and romantic.
