Experience Seattle

There will always be someone who won’t agree with something you say, do, or believe. These people are know as critics. What critics are really good at doing is stealing our focus and joy. How is it that one negative comment will take away so much joy from us? We suddenly forget all the compliments we did received. Instead of using our energy to focus on working on our goal we focus on what was said to us. Our feelings get hurt. We question if perhaps our critics are right. Why are we giving our critics this power?

When you live outside the box and you act, do, or dress differently there will be lots of criticism. I know because I get criticized often. My entire life I did things differently.

Remember that not everyone is going to agree with you. Not everyone is going to like you. No matter what you do or don’t do because we are all so different.

Beneath the Streets Guided Tour

Beneath the Streets Guided Tours is a very interesting experience. It was a interesting experience as soon as the person we got tickets from reassured us that the scary decorations are not theirs. They share the building with some company that does some ghost thing and has a museum of death. The tour itself though is also very interesting. It starts by taking you into a tunnel and makes you more aware of what Seattle was and is today. After showing us what Seattle looks like underground you will go outside and the tour guide will show you the many hints you can see outside that there are tunnels beneath you. You will learn the history of Seattle, why Seattle has a underground, and how it is used today. You will leave this tour with a larger understanding of Seattle and its history.

Pier 57 Miners Landing Seattle Great Wheel

Seattle’s Great Wheel is 175 feet tall. It was added in 2012. The gondola ride is wonderful if you want to get a better view of Seattle. Each of the gondolas can fit 8 people. We went during the day because we are morning people but at night the great wheel is light up.

The wheel isn’t fast and it goes around a few times so most likely you won’t feel sick and you will get a few chances to see everything.

Smith Tower Visitor Center

Smith Tower Visitor Experience is a great place to visit. When entering you almost immediately get to watch, read, and listen to records on the history of Smith Tower. Once you start making your way to the elevator you will see marble covering the walls. Then there are a whole bunch of elevators that are for the businesses. You then walk to the final elevator only to be greeted by a elevator operator. Now this is something we would never have expected mostly because we have never been in a elevator with a operator. The elevator itself is very beautiful with the back of it having the original metal bars and plenty of good designs to examine. Then you get to the floor with the observation deck which seems to begin with a Chinese sense of design with a patio door that leads you to the deck. This deck is very safe to be on because they have metal bars all around to prevent any accidents. Walking around it you will see most of Seattle and if this type of view interests you definitely come here. This was the tallest skyscraper on the west coast until the Space Needle was built.

The Museum of Flight

The Museum of Flight was established in 1965 for the purpose of restoring a plane for the purpose of letting people see it. There are 20 hanging airplanes in the main building which is very impressive. It’s hard to imagine how well a building would have to be built to hold that much weight from the ceiling. There are many other planes that are on the floor. There is also a building filled with World War 1 and 2 history and planes from that time. And a wonderful outdoor exhibit where you can actually enter some of the planes including a Air Force One model.

Hotel Nexus Seattle

This is such a modern hotel. It is perfect if you want to be close to downtown Seattle but still want it to be a little more laid back with plenty of parking options.

They have a fitness center which is perfect for those like us who travel and still want to stay fit during our travels.

There is also a seasonal outdoor pool which we didn’t get to enjoy since it was cold when we stayed here.

They have a complimentary shuttle service.

Complimentary breakfast is available every morning which is something I especially need because breakfast for me is the most important meal of the day. I can’t do much until I have eaten.

I love Seattle, it is such a quick drive from where I live, we often try to make weekend trips up every season! I have never heard of the underground tour but now I am so intrigued! Next time I’m in town I definitely hope to experience that attraction. I love the big wheel! So much fun and I always get amazing photos when I ride it!

What a great write up on Seattle. The Museum of flights look super interesting with all the antique and classic planes that we could only watch on tv.

Wow this is wonderful, what a beautiful and fun experience you must have had. In my life right now I don’t really care about critics no matter what they say it won’t get to me
