During the warm months we crave something cold. Usually we reach inside the freezer for some ice-cream. While we love ice-cream, frozen yogurt bars have something that ice-cream doesn’t: good bacteria (known as probiotics). This is great for our digestive system and the best part is that children love frozen yogurt bars. They might not want the healthy yogurt that is in our fridge but the frozen version they will happily eat.
We used Thrive Life ingredients to create these frozen yogurt bites. We first had to make the yogurt which is a no brainer. Then we added sweet fruit and honey and placed it all in the freezer.
We love Thrive Life because each of the products have a shelf life of twenty five years. That is unless you open the can then it will be fresh for one year. Thrive Life is healthier because the vitamins and nutrients are locked in so it stays fresher. It tastes so good because it is as ripe as the day it was picked. There is no need to worry about mold or slime because freeze dried food stays fresh without preservatives. It is a lot easier because all the washing and chopping has been done for you.
What you need:
- 8 cups of water
- 2 1/2 cups of Thrive Life Instant Milk
- 2 cups of Thrive Life Greek Yogurt
- A variety of Thrive Life Fruits
- Thrive Life Honey Crystals
- thermometer
You first want to heat the milk to 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
Stir the milk and water occasionally to keep it from sticking.
Once it hits 180 degrees Fahrenheit you want to turn of the heat.
Cool to around 110 degree Fahrenheit.
This is where you want to add the Greek yogurt bits.
Poor into mason jars and keep warm for at least eight hours. Some wrap the jars with towels or put them in the oven with the light on. I used the Suteck Yogurt Maker. The longer you keep it at around 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the thicker and tangier it will be.
Once you have reached your desired consistency place your yogurt in the refrigerator.
To make the frozen yogurt bars you need a glass container and parchment paper. Cover the glass container with parchment paper. Pour out the yogurt onto the parchment paper and then put fruit, nuts, and honey on top. Then simply place in the freezer and wait a few hours. Then enjoy.
