Glenwood Springs, Colorado

We spent a week in Colorado and fell in love with Glenwood Springs. This place is known for their hot springs. You could spend an entire week just soaking in the different springs while healing your body. We decided to do a little bit of everything.

We were not disappointed.

Lily Lake Loop in Rocky Mountain National Park

We wanted to do something in Rocky Mountain National Park and were told by a park ranger that a lot of the roads were closed due to snow. So we walked the Lily Lake Loop. This is a short 0.8 mile loop which take you around the lake. Here you can see the Rocky Mountain with plenty of trees surrounding you. While we were there we got to see snow on the mountain which looked absolutely stunning. We spent only a few hours here because it was so cold.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs

Iron Mountain Hot Springs is a place where you can find a large selection of hot springs. Here you can find 16 different pools which all have different temperatures. This makes it possible for you to go around and find the right pool for you. We stayed closer to the river so that we could see as much nature as possible.

Hot Springs are our favorite. We enjoyed two of their sixteen natural soaking pools. We were overlooking the Colorado River. This pool floor is covered in pebbles. It is so therapeutic.

Thank you Iron Mountain Hot Springs for the amazing soak.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

Here I totally did something out of my comfort zone. I went on the Giant Canyon Swing which “was named by USAToday as one of the most extreme rides in the United States.” Peter, Esther, and I were 1,300 feet above the Colorado River. It was a blast. I went on all of the rides with my kids and screamed and laughed so much.

They have an alpine coaster here. We have never done this before so it was a really cool experience.

Soaring eagle zip ride was fun. It was nice to just sit and take in the gorgeous views. I’m used to hanging when ziplining.

Glenwood canyon flyer keeps swinging you around and you go higher and higher.

Now this is one amazing adventure park. It has something for everyone. If your not into rides you could explore two different caves.

They have amazing food choices here as well.

Thank you Glenwood Caverns for such an unforgettable experience.

Glenwood Canyon

Glenwood Canyon is a truly amazing place to drive through. Here there are walls as tall as 1,300 feet higher than the Colorado river which you follow on your drive. There is plenty of variation in color. From grayish areas to green areas with plenty of vegetation. As well a blue at the bottom due to the river. There are rest areas on this 12.5 mile road which allow you to get a break from driving as well as to take in your surroundings. Whether your going to be staying nearby or passing through this canyon is totally worth your time.

Glenwood Springs State Fish Hatchery

Glenwood Springs State Fish Hatchery is one of the most uniquely structured fish hatcheries we have seen. While they do put eggs here they have simply created a stream so that the fish get to live in local water. Despite being the smallest of state hatcheries in Colorado this hatchery is a place where millions of eggs are hatched every year.
