Summer is just around the corner!! It is the perfect time to have family and friends over for dinner. I will show you how to decorate paper lanterns. These decorated paper lanterns will add a special touch to your dinner party. They require very little time to make and the best part is that your child can make these with you!

1. You need a paper lantern. You can buy them at the dollar store.

2. Buy artificial flowers. You could use the same kind of flower throughout the lantern or you could use a few different colors if you’d like. Take the flowers and the leaves off the stem. Put the flower and leaf together. Make a hole in the paper lantern using your flower. Take out the flower. Add hot glue to the hole and place the flower back into your hole. Hold for a couple of seconds until it is dry. Keep repeating this process until you are satisfied with the way your paper lantern looks. You could cover your whole lantern or half of it. This is perfect to do if you are having a party last minute because it requires very little time to make.

3. Keep your egg cartons. Use top and bottom of the egg carton. Cut out two cup sections from the egg carton.  Trim around the cups so that cups have an even edge. Make one smaller than the other. Cut 4 lines in the cups. Place the smaller  cup  inside the larger cup and glue them together. Using the egg carton top cut out a thin strip. Roll the strip. Glue the strip inside the two cups. Now you have a flower. You can put some paint on it and glue it to the paper lantern once it has dried. You could also paint the whole egg carton before you start cutting it using spray paint. Put as many egg carton flowers on your lantern as you would like.

                                                                          Have fun !
